Building Our Community Together: Parent and Teacher Commitments

At our school, education is a shared journey.

Building a strong community starts with shared intentions.  Our preschool parents and teachers contributed to writing  a shared “Brit” (covenant)—a collective pledge outlining our mutual values and commitment to nurturing a healthy, positive environment for every child.

Key Commitments From Parents

  • Partners in Growth: We commit to being active, collaborative partners in our children’s development, assuming best intentions and trusting school leadership.
  • Open & Respectful Communication: From staying engaged to offering constructive feedback and communicating respectfully, we build relationships grounded in gratitude and kindness.
  • Respecting Routines & Leads: We support our educators by following their lead, respecting daily classroom routines, and showing up on time.

Key Commitments From our Staff

  • Creating a Safe Space: We pledge to be a safe space for our children, showing patience, slowing down, and respecting their unique experiences.
  • Imprinting Ethics & Connection: We cultivate lifelong friendships, attend community events, and model positive morals and empathy every day.
  • Communication & Support: Maintain open lines of communication, ask for help, step up when action is needed, and serve as mutual resources.
  • Professional Culture: Maintain a professional attitude and tone, engage in self-reflection, respect shared spaces, face issues directly, and apply the seven Sheva Jewish Lenses to their work.
  • Growth & Value: Seek to understand rather than judge or label, honor individual diversity and curiosity, role model collaboration, and view children as capable beings through humanistic and Sheva Jewish values.
  • Partnership & Inclusivity: Collaborate with families as resources, support their inclusion journeys, embrace each family’s culture, and view families through the Sheva Jewish Lenses.

We look forward to seeing our incredible children, families, and teachers grow and navigate in the year ahead!
